How to play Easthaven Solitaire
Easthaven plays like Klondike in seven short columns, with a stock that deals onto the columns instead of a waste pile. Build all four suits from Ace to King on the foundations to win.
- Seven columns of three cards are dealt, two face down and one face up. The other 31 cards stay in the stock.
- In the columns, build down in alternating colours: a red 6 on a black 7.
- A run in order moves together onto another column. A face-down card turns over once the cards on it have moved.
- Only a King, or a run that starts with a King, can go into an empty column.
- Choose the stock to deal one card face up onto every column. The last deal has three cards, for the first three columns. There's no second pass.
- You can't deal while a column is empty and a King could move into it.
- Move Aces to the foundations, then build each suit up in order. Cards that are safe to send home go there by themselves.
- To move cards, tap the card, then tap where it should go. You can drag instead. Double-tap a card to send it to its foundation.
Undo has no limit, and it can take back a deal from the stock too. Every daily deal can be won.
Tips
- Each deal covers every column, so make your moves before you deal: a card you could have played may end up buried.
- Turn over the face-down cards early. Each column starts with only one card showing.
- Keep a King ready for an empty column, since nothing else can fill it.
Keyboard
Arrow keys move between cards and piles. Enter or Space selects a card and places it. D deals from the stock, H shows a hint, Escape cancels a selection, and Ctrl+Z undoes a move.
Questions
How does the stock work in Easthaven?
Each time you choose the stock it deals one card face up onto every column, seven at a time, and the last deal has three. There's no waste pile and no second pass.
Why can't I deal?
If a column is empty and a King could move into it, you have to move the King first.
Can every daily deal be won?
Yes. A computer solver that can see every card checks each daily deal before we publish it.
