How to play Kings in the Corner

Kings in the Corner is for two players here: you and the computer. Each of you gets 7 cards. Four cards are turned up beside the stock, one on each side (north, east, south and west). The four corners start empty. The aim is to be the first to play every card in your hand.

Each pile shows its bottom card and its top card, the two that matter: the next card goes on the top one, and a pile moves by its bottom one. Tap a card in your hand to play it. If it fits more than one place, those places are outlined and you tap the one you want. Undo takes back one step at a time.

Keyboard

Tab moves between the piles, your cards and End turn, and the arrow keys move between your cards. Enter or Space plays a card or chooses a pile. H shows a hint, Ctrl+Z undoes and Escape cancels a choice.

Questions

How do you play Kings in the Corner?

Each player gets 7 cards, and four cards are turned up beside the stock, one on each side. On your turn, draw a card, then play as many as you can: each one goes on a pile one rank lower and the other color, like a red 6 on a black 7. Kings go only into the four corners. The first player to play every card wins.

Can I move a whole pile?

Yes. If the bottom card of a side pile would go on the top card of another pile, tap the side pile to move all of it there. That leaves an empty side space, which can take any card except a King.

How does scoring work?

The game ends when one player plays their last card. The other player is left with penalty points: 10 for each King and 1 for any other card.

Can I take a move back?

Yes. Undo takes back one step at a time, including the computer's turn. Hint suggests a good play.
