How to play Mini Crossword

Fill the grid so every row and column of white squares spells the answer to its clue. Across answers read left to right; Down answers read top to bottom. Each square belongs to one Across answer and one Down answer, so a letter you're sure of helps with the answer that crosses it.

• Tap a square to choose it. Tap it again, or choose Across / Down, to switch between the two answers through that square.
• Type the letters. On a phone or tablet, tapping a square opens its keyboard. After each letter, the next empty square of the answer is chosen for you.
• Tap a clue in the lists to jump to its answer. The clue you're on is shown above the grid.
• Check marks any wrong letters in red. Reveal letter fills in the square you're on, and Reveal answer fills in the whole answer. Undo takes back any change.
• There is no time limit. Your puzzle is saved on this device, so you can come back to it later.

Tips

• Start with the clues you're sure of, then use their letters to work out the answers that cross them.
• A clue in the plural has an answer in the plural, and a clue in the past tense has a past-tense answer.
• A blank (___) in a clue stands for the answer: "Once ___ a time" is UPON.

Keyboard

Type letters to fill squares. Arrow keys move between squares, and an arrow across the way you're going turns you to face it. Space switches between Across and Down. Backspace deletes. Tab or Enter moves to the next answer, and Shift+Tab or Shift+Enter to the one before. Tab from the last answer leaves the grid.
