How to play Scorpion Solitaire
Scorpion uses one deck. The goal is four columns, one for each suit, running from King down to Ace. You win when all 52 cards are in those four runs.
- Seven columns of seven cards are dealt. In the first four columns the three cards at the back are face down; every other card is face up. The last three cards wait in the stock.
- A card goes on the next higher card of the same suit: the 6 of hearts on the 7 of hearts.
- You can move any face-up card, wherever it is in its column. Every card on top of it comes along, in order or not.
- Only a King, with any cards on it, can go into an empty column.
- When a face-down card is uncovered, it turns face up.
- Choose the stock to deal the last three cards, one onto each of the first three columns. You get them only once.
- To move a card, tap it, then tap the column it should go to.
Undo has no limit, and it can take back the stock deal too.
Tips
- Work on the face-down cards in the first four columns early. Each one you uncover opens up more moves.
- Moving a card from the middle of a column takes everything on top of it along. Before you move, check what it will bury.
- Keep the stock until no other move helps: three new cards can break a jam, but only once.
- An empty column only takes a King, so it's worth emptying one when a King is stuck on a card it doesn't belong on.
Keyboard
Arrow keys move between cards and columns. Enter or Space selects a card and places it. D deals the stock, H shows a hint, Escape cancels a selection, and Ctrl+Z undoes a move.

When do the last three cards come in?
Whenever you choose the stock. They go one each onto the first three columns, and you get them only once, so it often pays to wait until you're stuck.
How is Scorpion different from Yukon?
Both let you move any face-up card with the cards on it. In Scorpion you build in the same suit and the runs stay in the columns. In Yukon you build in alternating colours and move cards to foundations.
