Two-player card games
Card games made for two people. Here you play against the computer; each game says what you need to play it at home with one other person. Free, with no sign-up.
Rummy games
Collect sets of the same rank and runs in one suit. Gin Rummy is the quick one, with one deck and ten cards each. Rummy 500 opens the whole discard pile to you. Canasta needs two decks and four jokers, and a game runs over several hands.

Cribbage
Score points for fifteens, pairs and runs, first during play and then in your hand and the crib, and race round the board to 121. At home you need one deck and a cribbage board; here every hand is counted for you.
Shedding games
Be the first to get rid of your cards. Crazy Eights is one of the easiest card games to teach; Kings in the Corner adds solitaire-style building. Each needs one deck.
Spite and Malice
A race to play off a 20-card goal pile onto shared piles built from Ace to Queen, with Kings wild. It plays like competitive solitaire. At home it takes two decks.
